Sjótækni has in collaboration with Tálknafjarðarskóli helped with students regarding job presentations this autumn. The last two Wednesdays Aron and Magni came to us at Sjótækni.

We introduced them to the company's activities and showed them tools and equipment for various uses. Among other things, Maciek showed them the pressure chamber and explained its use. The next day they were taken on a speedboat to the pens where they got to see the cleaning gadgets on board Haukur BA and how they are used. We at Sjótækni thank Aron and Magni for coming and hope they enjoyed the visit.

This summer, Sjótækni worked on setting up anchors for fish farms for Hábrún in their farming area in Skutulsfjörður in Ísafjarðardjúpur. 18 anchors and mooring system were installed, which will keep eight pens in place. The pens will then be put in place this autumn. As can be seen in the attached pictures, the equipment is not quite small, as it has to withstand a lot of weather stress.

This summer, Sjótækni's employees were involved in multi-beam measurements on Ölfusá by Selfoss with the company's remote-controlled measuring boat. Mapping was done on the bottom of the river so that it was possible to better understand what the bottom looked like and what the depth was. The boat proved to be good at measurements in the river despite a high current and a lot of turbidity in the water and it was possible to map the bottom of the river quite well.
