Tálknafjarðarskóli started a collaboration with a company in Tálknafjörður last winter which gives school children a job presentations where they get to know the companies' activities and the projects that are being worked on in each company. Due to COVID-19, these visits were cancelled last winter but resumed in the autumn.

We here at Sjótækni received the first group at the beginning of September when Berglind, Ola and Ólöf came to us. They were introduced to the company's activities and shown tools and equipment for various uses. Among other things, they were shown the divers' equipment and the pressure chamber owned by Sjótækni and they were allowed to go inside to see it better. During the second visit, they were invited on board Assa BA, one of Sjótækni's ships that lay at the pier in Tálknafjörður. There, Kjartan J. Hauksson, the CEO, greeted them and showed them the ship and introduced the girls to the projects that the ship should be used for and showed them, among other things, fibre optic cables that are to be laid east of the fjords in the near future. We at Sjótækni thank Berglind, Ola and Ólöf for coming and hope they enjoyed the visit with us.
